TCS Sydney Marathon 2026
29-30 August 2026 | North Sydney to Sydney Opera House
Train well, eat well, sleep well. Then go run Sydney.
The TCS Sydney Marathon returns across Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026, bringing one of the city’s biggest fitness weekends back to Sydney. Saturday’s Mini Marathon starts on Macquarie Street and finishes at the Sydney Opera House, while Sunday’s marathon starts in North Sydney, crosses the Harbour Bridge and finishes on the Opera House Forecourt.
A smarter setup for race weekend
For race weekend, the stay needs to work around the run. Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park gives guests a practical base with comfortable accommodation, Bistro Sydney on site, in-room dining for a quieter night in, and a fitness centre that can be useful for a light shake-out before race day or an easier reset afterwards.
Bistro Sydney works well for dinner the night before, whether that means a proper meal or simply keeping things straightforward before an early start. For guests who would rather stay in, in-room dining is there as well. It is a cleaner way to do marathon weekend than staying right in the middle of the CBD.
Getting to Sydney Marathon from Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park
For the Sunday marathon
- Train and metro: Start at Macquarie Park Metro Station and travel into the city toward North Sydney. Official marathon guidance points runners toward Metro connections for the start, with Victoria Cross or Crows Nest the key stations depending on start group.
- Taxi or rideshare: Cars can pick up from the hotel entrance, but road closures and race-day traffic will make public transport the better option for most runners.
For the Saturday Mini Marathon:
- Train and metro: Start at Macquarie Park Metro Station and travel into the CBD for the Macquarie Street start. The finish is at the Sydney Opera House, so public transport is the easiest option across the day.
- Taxi or rideshare: A direct trip into the city is possible, but weekend crowds and road restrictions will usually make train and metro the simpler choice.
A better way to do the weekend around the run
Sydney Marathon is not just about the course. It is the night before, the early alarm, the finish line, and how easy the rest of the weekend feels around it. Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park helps with that part, with Bistro Sydney for dinner, in-room dining if guests want a quieter evening, a fitness centre on site, and a location that keeps the city within reach without turning the whole weekend into a scramble.
