Simple Minds – V Tour 2027

Simple Minds bring the V Tour to Afterpay Arena, formerly Qudos Bank Arena, on Saturday 20 February 2027, marking 50 years since the band formed and joining as a special guest, is Gary Numan.

Two full sets make for a longer evening than a typical single headline show, which is where staying close to Sydney Olympic Park starts to make sense. Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park is a short trip away, with dinner beforehand and a comfortable room to come back to once the last song finishes.

Getting to Afterpay Arena from Macquarie Park

Public transport: Afterpay Arena’s own event guide encourages public transport over driving, given limited on-site parking. Macquarie Park Metro Station sits about 2 minutes from the hotel. Take the Metro to Epping, then connect to Sydney Trains for Sydney Olympic Park, a trip of around 25 to 35 minutes in total.

Taxi or rideshare: the trip to Afterpay Arena covers around 13 kilometres and usually takes 15 to 20 minutes in normal traffic. On a Saturday night with two acts on the bill, allow a little extra time either side of the show for traffic around the venue.

Staying at Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park for Simple Minds

Dinner at Bistro Sydney is an easy way to start the night before heading across to Sydney Olympic Park, and the Standard King Room gives couples or solo fans a straightforward, comfortable base for the night.

Coming back to Macquarie Park afterwards means guests are not weighing up train timetables once the show wraps up. Breakfast at Bistro Sydney the next morning rounds out the stay without an early start.
